Plant Basket

Bolga baskets are one of the most known products of Ghana. They are traditionally and ethically handwoven by a cooperarive of male and female artisans in the remote region of Bolgatanga.

Each basket undergoes a several production steps and it can take a few days to be completed. Baskets are eco-friendly as sundried elephant grass is used for weaving. To add colors to baskets, weavers use plants and non-toxic fabric dyes.

5% of every purchase of a Bolga basket is donated to the iHelp Africa's project that provides donations to girls in schools with sanitary pads. This allows schoolgirls to attend school even during menstruation, as they have enough sanitary pads available. 

Note: Due to the handwoven nature of Bolga baskets, expect some variation in size, colors and shape.
